This program is designed for orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, radiologists, rheumatologists, osteopathic physicians and other professionals involved in spine care.
Surgical Session
Upon completion of the surgical session of the curriculum, attendees will gain an understanding of the following:
- Principles of minimally invasive spine treatment strategies
- Evidence-based medicine in spine treatment challenges
- Understanding new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
- Management principles and treatment options for spine trauma
- Complications and management of patient care in the use of new technologies
- Hands-on experience with emerging technology presented by experienced faculty
- Principles and specific applications for the use of osteobiologics and synthetic grafting materials
- Current issues surrounding motion preservation and total disc arthroplasty, including patient selection, outcome studies, complications and revision strategies
Non-Surgical Session
The non-surgical session of the curriculum will provide an understanding of the following:
- Understanding new technologies in spine care, including potential limitations
- Using new technologies to identify pain generators
- Understanding how new technologies affect patient care
- Potential complications from the use of new technologies in spine care
- Percutaneous pain ablation procedures
- Neurogenic Claudication: Treatment and controversies
- Difficulties in Pain Management: Alternative Treatments
- Injection and ablation options
- Percutaneous disc treatments without implants
- Diagnosis and treatment of sacroiliac joint dysfunction
- Hands-on experience with emerging technology presented by experienced faculty
