Biomet Spine #1

Title: Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery featuring the AccuVision™ Minimally Invasive Spinal Exposure System and Ballista™ Percutaneous Screw System
Presenter: Dan S. Cohen, MD

Biomet Spine’s AccuVision™ Minimally Invasive Spinal Exposure System has been designed to offer a variable approach to lumbar fixation for the ever-growing Minimally Invasive approach to spine surgery. The AccuVision System features a Retractor frame with a series of blades, shims and retractor modules that provide exceptional exposure to the bony anatomy.

The Ballista™ Percutaneous Pedicle Screw Placement System from Biomet Spine offers a novel approach to lumbar fixation for the ever-growing Minimally Invasive Fusion Market. The Ballista system utilizes a series of cannulated screws, uniquely designed rods and instrumentation intended specifically to introduce and complete a stabilization construct through a true Percutaneous approach.

The Ballista System incorporates a superior Helical Flange™ Locking Mechanism to minimize seat splay, cross threading, and allow for vertebral derotation without longitudinal screw slippage.

Biomet Spine #2

Title: Deformity Correction of the Spine featuring the Polaris™ Spine System
Presenter: Paul B. Suh, M.D.

Biomet Spine’s comprehensive Polaris™ systems offer surgeons variability to correct and fuse the spine from the upper thoracic region to the ileum with the option of a 5.5mm dia or 6.35mm diameter titanium rod. The systems were developed to address the wide needs of managing spinal deformities with advanced implants and ergonomic instrumentation.

The Polaris System incorporates a superior Helical Flange™ Locking Mechanism to minimize seat splay, cross threading, and allow for vertebral derotation without longitudinal screw slippage.

DePuy Spine

Title: New Corpectomy Solutions
Presenter: Dr. Paul Arnold and Dr. Richard Lazar

Moving into 2008, DePuy Spine will be launching two new corpectomy technologies: The Bengal® Stackable Cage System and X-Mesh® Expandable cage system. Come stop by our booth on Thursday, February 7, 2008, for an in-depth, hands-on demonstration and discussion of the two new systems that DePuy Spine will be bringing to market in 2008.

Globus

Title: Trauma
Presenter: Dr. Courtney Brown and Dr. Carl Lauryssen

TRAUMA –Traumatic cases present clinical complexities that require flexibility of both surgeon and instrumentation.  Join Dr. Courtney Brown and Dr.Carl Lauryssen as they review the benefits of GLOBUS Trauma Solutions. From an Radiolucent and Expandable Cage (XPand R) to multiple Thoracolumbar Fixation Solutions (RAS Dual Staples, GATEWAY Integrated Rod/Plate, CITADEL Plates) to a unique instrument system.

Innovative Spinal Technologies

Title: MIS Systems for Lumbar & Cervical Fusion
Presenter: Ali Araghi, MD

Visit the IST table for a workshop featuring the latest in MIS technologies for lumbar and cervical fusion.    Dr. Araghi will demonstrate IST’s innovative Paramount™ Pedicle Screw System for lumbar fusion, as well as the new Anterior Cervical Plate (ACP) System for cervical fusion.   By participating in this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn first-hand why a minimally invasive surgical approach can streamline procedural time and lead to positive patient outcomes.

Stryker Spine

Title: Overview of Stryker Spine Product Portfolio
Presenter: Dr. Marc Christensen

Dr. Christensen will be giving a brief overview of the Stryker product portfolio featuring the MANTIS® Percutaneous Screw Insertion System and Luxor less invasive retractor MIS solutions. The AVS®  PEEK  and VLIFT® VBR systems will be available for demonstration along with the OASYS posterior cervical system and the Reflex® family of anterior cervical plates. The latest innovations in Xia pedicle screw technology will be detailed along with the newest Stryker pedicle screw system, Radius, with its signature non-threaded locking mechanism. Please stop by the Stryker booth and discuss your complex spine cases with Dr. Christensen.

Trans1

Presenter:  TBA

The TranS1 Workshop will focus on the proper technique used in employing its proprietary minimally invasive surgical approach used to treat degenerative disc disease through the principles of soft-tissue preservation.  TranS1’s percutaneous access and 360 degree AxiaLIF fusion system enables lumbar fusion to be performed with complete preservation of the annulus and all paraspinal soft tissue structures.  Focal points of the workshop will be aimed at providing a reproducible approach allowing for the least invasive access to the L5-S1 vertebral bodies, thorough discectomy and endplate removal, indirect decompression via distraction, and restoration of sagital balance.  Technical description and case presentations.

US Spine

Title: US Spine Facet Fixation Systemä
Presenter: John Sledge, MD

The US Spine Facet Fixation Systemä workshop will detail the features and benefits of the System, including the Facet Boltä implant and the Facet Gunä delivery system. The lab will also demonstrate the Lumbar Facet Lockä procedure for use as supplemental posterior fixation to an interbody fusion.

The Facet Fixation System consists of an adaptive Titanium Facet Bolt, delivered though a less-invasive, disposable, trigger-actuated gun. The implants are pre-loaded into the gun, which is inserted over the facet joint. Pulling the trigger compresses the adaptive locking washers over the joint. Turning the ratchet handle drives the screw through the joint and locking washers. Once completed, the gun is discarded.

Biomet Spine

Title: Posterior Cervical Spine Fixation featuring the Altius M-INI™ Posterior Cervical System
Presenter: Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD

Biomet Spine’s comprehensive Altius M-INI™ Posterior Cervical System is a top loading posterior universal spine system capable of addressing degenerative, deformity and trauma indications. Its instrumentation consists of modular quick-connect handles and drivers that offer the surgeon multiple options with regard to the surgical technique and use of instrumentation.

The Altius System implants include color coded multi-axial screws, posted screws, telescoping cross-connectors, lateral connectors, hooks, straight and pre-bent 3.5mm rods, transitional rods, and three occipital plate sizes that feature four-hole screw placement and unique sliding connectors.

The Altius System incorporates a superior Helical Flange™ Locking Mechanism to minimize seat splay, cross threading, and allow for vertebral derotation without longitudinal screw slippage.

Globus

Title: Minimally Invasive Surgery
Presenter: Dr. David Goss

The benefits of lowering the impact of spine surgery are enhanced with training, experience and great engineering.  Join Dr. David Goss to discuss the merits of the GLOBUS PIVOT Rod Delivery System and the MARS Retractor.

K2Medical

Title: RANGE™ Spinal System highlighting the No Profile MESA™ Pedicle Screw
Presenter: John Williams, MD

This workshop features hands-on demonstrations of the RANGE™ Spinal System highlighting the No Profile MESA™ Pedicle Screw.  The RANGE™ System provides answers to the most complex deformity pathologies through simple and innovative instrument and implant solutions.  Many of these unique instruments address complex derotation maneuvers, rod reduction, and other answers for spinal deformities.
