Dr. Youssef is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon,
which is the highest level of training for a spine surgeon in the
United States. He specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery,
fracture care, complex spinal disorders and alternatives to bony
fusion in spine surgery. |

He completed his undergraduate degree in genetics from
the University of California at Berkeley in 1986. His doctor of medicine
was achieved at University of California, Irvine School of Medicine in
1991. Dr. Youssef completed his internship in general surgery at Oregon
Health Sciences University in 1992 and his residency in orthopedic surgery
at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 1996. His fellowship in spine
was completed at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in
1997.
Dr. Youssef is a member of the clinical faculty at the University of
New Mexico. He is also a member of the North American Spine Society,
the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Medical Association,
the American Cancer Society, the Colorado Medical Society, the Western
Orthopaedic Association and AO/ASIF International Spine. He and his wife,
Melissa, have three children, Natalie, Nathan and Amina. Dr. Youssef
is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys skiing, mountain biking, running, fly-fishing,
golf and tennis.
